The City of Sky residence stands out among contemporary homes, as it is designed to be a place of equal importance for both the spirit and material aspects of life. The design aims to provide a sanctuary that nurtures abundant internal energy and self-restraint. The use of various materials, such as volcanic stone, rock plate, ceramic tile, copper plate, and wood veneer, adds depth and texture to the space, creating a unique and captivating atmosphere.
The stone elements in the interior resemble a ladder, with primitive colors that blend seamlessly with the surrounding environment. The simplicity and elegance of the design concept make nature and fashion harmoniously coexist. The collision of bold and novel color materials further enhances the visual impact and adds a touch of excitement to the space.
The realization of the City of Sky design involved meticulous craftsmanship and attention to detail. The use of volcanic stone, rock plate, ceramic tile, copper plate, and wood veneer required careful selection and comparison to achieve the desired aesthetic effect. The result is a space that showcases the natural textures and qualities of the materials, creating a lasting impression on anyone who enters.
Spanning an area of 1200 square meters, the City of Sky residence is a testament to the designer's ability to create a unique and captivating living environment. The project, which started in August 2018 and was completed in April 2020, showcases the fusion of modern architecture and nature, while preserving the artistic style of Shanghai. The design embodies the concept of "eliminating complexity and preserving simplicity" and "combining virtual and real," creating a space that cultivates quality and conveys a sense of contemporary living.
The City of Sky residence has received recognition for its outstanding design. It was awarded the Bronze A' Design Award in the Interior Space, Retail, and Exhibition Design category in 2021. This prestigious award is bestowed upon designs that exhibit creativity, resourcefulness, and a commitment to improving quality of life. The City of Sky residence stands as a testament to the designer's technical and creative skills, contributing to the enhancement of the living environment and making the world a better place.
